SJIHM offers enrollment for 2012-2013

St. Joseph and Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Austintown is currently enrolling for the 2012-2013 school year.

The school offers a 35-member band featuring brass, woodwinds and percussion with the addition of a strings section planned in the next school year. SJIHM students enjoy a performing arts program in formal collaboration with the Ursuline High School drama and music department.

Parents and students are kept informed through Option C, an online student progress reporting and information board, as well as a Parent Alert Communication System.

Students also benefit from the availability of counseling services and a school-wide Bullying Awareness and Prevention Program. Those in need may benefit from the free and reduced cost lunch program and SJIHM accepts EdChoice.

The school plans to schedule to accommodate special interest classes and clubs, and offer academic tutoring for those students not eligible for Title I services, but still in need of learning support. Next year, all students (K-8) will be learning Spanish with the Rosetta Stone Spanish Program. Eighth-grade students enjoy being leaders and are charged with mentoring younger students in a “little buddy” program.

Prospective students are invited to become an “Eagle for a Day” by calling the school office at 330-799-1944 to schedule a visit.
