Ohio school principal ordered to work from home

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — An elementary school principal has been ordered to work from home for the rest of the school year following a reprimand over an alleged physical altercation with a special education student.

The Madison Local School District board also voted unanimously last week not to renew Madison Elementary Principal Matthew Gray’s contract. It expires July 31.

The Middletown Journal reported Wednesday that a reprimand in Gray’s personnel file says he became violent with the special education student last year in front of other students and a security camera.

The reprimand says Gray grabbed the child by the shirt and yanked the child out of the classroom and down the hall.
