The Western Reserve Transit Authority is asking for input from riders and Mahoning County residents with an online survey.

The survey is part of a comprehensive study of needs, routes and services and targeting riders as well as nonriders to see what their priorities are and how WRTA can better serve the area, according to a news release.

The link will be available on WRTA’s website www.wrtaonline.com and its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WRTA.OH until next Friday.

The survey responses will be anonymous and are being managed by a third party, but if respondents give their email address at the end of the survey, they will be entered to win a $50 gift card.

“We are working to better serve our riders and the taxpayers in Mahoning County. Their input is important as we look to the future so we hope to get a good response from this survey,” said James Ferraro, WRTA executive director, in a news release.

WRTA also is gearing up for the 7th annual National Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, which encourages people to ride public transportation instead of driving to save money.

Riders can download and print a free WRTA day pass at WRTA’s website or clip a pass out from The Vindicator. Riders must present the coupon upon boarding. If riders turn the coupon in to the driver on their last trip Thursday, they will be entered into a drawing to win more bus passes.
