Hash over social media for revenue growth at Metro College breakfast

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Metro College will sponsor a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 2 for businesses and nonprofit organizations looking to use social media and other connecting tools to increase revenue, improve customer retention and satisfaction.

The Metro College has partnered with ThinkThroughTools, a designer and implementer of outreach systems and software, to create OutreachU, a new series of courses designed to meet the needs of Mahoning Valley businesses. OutreachU will start in January, said Ronald Chordas, associate provost for University Outreach, and planners will use the breakfast to help customize the course offerings to fit local needs.

“We want to attract a group of people who will talk to us about the problems they’re facing, what they need to know to improve their bottom line, what kind of course schedules will work for them,” said Chordas. “Then we will work to tailor our courses to their needs.”

“There’s no organization that can’t do better than they’re doing,” he said. “We want to help them do better, especially in the ways they engage with their customers and communities through outreach.”

There is no charge for the breakfast, to be held at the YSU Metro College Campus in Southwoods Commons, 100 DeBartolo Place, Suite 200 in Boardman, but registration is required due to limited seating. To register, or for more information, call the YSU Metro College at 330-941-2465 or visit www.ThinkThroughTools.com.
