Farm to Fork Dinner to benefit United Way

Friday, July 20, 2012

The first Farm to Fork Dinner, presented by Key Bank, will take place at White House Fruit Farm in Canfield on July 29 at 5 p.m. The evening features a complete menu of locally-grown and produced items, private shopping in the White House market, wagon tours of the farm and orchard and musical entertainment by the Teddy Pantelas Duo.

The outdoor fresh-from-the-farm dinner and desserts will feature ingredients from White House Fruit Farm and a number of other local suppliers, prepared by Stephen Grant, executive chef of The Youngstown Club.

“The local food, or locavore, movement has become increasingly popular across the country,” explained Debbie Pifer, White House owner. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our locally-grown produce, meats and dairy products.” A number of tickets are still available at $100 per person. Seating is limited to 100 people. If interested, call Tara Mady of the United Way at 330-746-8494.
