School bus driver killed in garage accident

CENTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) — State police are still investigating the death of a western Pennsylvania school bus driver who was struck by another vehicle while walking in the parking lot of her school bus company’s garage.

Troopers from the Washington, Pa. barracks aren’t identifying the other driver who was apparently arriving for work shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday when his personal vehicle hit 64-year-old Andrea Chapman, of Vestaburg.

Chapman was a driver for Impiccini Bus Lines, which has a garage in Centerville Borough, Washington County.

Police say Chapman was wearing dark clothing and walking across the lot while she was hit. She died later that evening of head injuries at a Pittsburgh hospital.

Chapman had worked for the bus company since 1985, which provides service to the Bethlehem-Center School District.
