Association to host pharmacy program

POLAND

The Western Reserve Association of Health Underwriters will host “Pharmacy Benefit Management 101” at noon March 8 at Bruno’s Restaurant, 1984 Boardman-Poland Road.

This presentation aims to give citizens a core understanding of the subject.

Registration begins at 11:25 a.m. followed by lunch and a brief business meeting. The continuing education program begins at noon.

Admission is free for members. The cost for nonmembers is $10.

MCCTC will offer shale-safety classes

CANFIELD

Adult Career Education at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, is helping individuals receive the safety education and training in the shale industry by hosting a series of basic and in-depth courses.

MCCTC will offer one-day orientation training from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 6 and March 27.

An advanced training will include the three-day PEC Premier Core Compliance Safety Training from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 17, 18 and 19 at the center.

By attending all three sessions and passing the test, participants will have the background and training necessary for entrance into shale careers.

New yoga business to open March 15

HOWLAND

Yoga urth will host a grand opening party from 5 to 8 p.m. March 15.

Yoga urth offers hot-power yoga classes. The party will have appetizers, giveaways, a free class and more.

The business is at 9519 E. Market St., inside of the Tennis Center next to The Avalon Inn Hotel.

Chamber will host shale-safety event

YOUNGSTOWN

Rhonda Reda, executive director of the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program, will discuss emergency response e-training program and careers in the oil and gas industry at a Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber event at 7:15 a.m. March 9 at Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road.

OOGEEP is a nonprofit statewide education and public outreach program.

It has programs that focus on teacher workshops, scholarships, student education, firefighter training, industry work-force development, research, landowner and guest speaker programs.
