Church of Notre Dame will present the musical “Moses and The Burning Within” as part of its Lenten activities.
The Old-Testament musical, with lyrics and music by William Gokelman and David Kauffman, is based on the Book of Exodus. It follows the life of Moses from his placement in the basket in the River Nile until he leads the Israelites through the Red Sea. The show has a cast of nearly 50 and a pit orchestra.
The church staged the show in 2011 and attracted 1,200 people. The show is described as “Lenten meditation on our salvation history.”
Presentations will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and March 3, 9 and 10 and 4 p.m. March 11 at the church, 2325 Highland Road. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors older than 60 and students. Tickets are available at Notre Dame parish office and from cast members.
