Dog found shot on the East Side

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a dog dead earlier today on the city’s East Side with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Talia Musolino, from Animal Charity, said the dog was found next to the ESA Apartments at 1100 Kendis Circle.

She said Youngstown police were on the scene with crime lab taking photos. Both agencies are continuing the investigation.

Right now, she said they don’t think there is any connection with the other recent dog abuse cases, which have been concentrated mostly on the city’s west side.

X-rays were performed on the dog and will later be evaluated by the Animal Charity veterinarian when she returns next week, she said.
