ALLIANCES

The Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet for a 6 p.m. Jan. 14 dinner meeting at Third Baptist Church, 1172 Park Hill Drive, Youngstown. Sarah Brown-Clark, Youngstown Municipal Clerk of Courts, will discuss “Old World Traditions: Lost and Retained-African.” The meal will be provided by Marthela Allen Catering. Gospel Choir, directed by Kris Harper, will perform with jazz pianist and vocalist Howard Howell. Membership fees, valid from Sept. 2012 to June 2013, are $25 per person; meetings cost $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservation deadline is Jan. 9. Send a check payable to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561. Take a non-perishable food item to be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Cribbage Club will meet at noon Jan. 4 at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. New players are welcome. For information call 330-530-1254.

Round Table Woodcarvers will meet from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Wood and the use of tools will be provided and carving lessons will be free. GUILDS

American Sewing Guild Niles Silver Thimbles will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Viking Sewing Center, 40 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Guests will make luggage tags. Take small pieces of fabric, basic sewing supplies and machine to make and take. Call 330-538-2819 for information.

McDonald Knights of Columbus will meet at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the K. of C. Hall, Illinois Avenue.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road Canfield. The guest speaker will be Raelynn Kish on “Magnificent Storyteller” and music will be by Leann Puccio. All ladies are welcome. D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. SUPPORT GROUPS

Man to Man, a support group for prostate cancer patients, will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at TMH Medical Professional Bldg., 1353 E. Market St., Warren, in the cancer center waiting room. No registration required. For information call 800-227-2345.
