A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed Monday and/or Tuesday for Christmas.

City offices: Youngstown, Warren, Salem, and Sharon, closed Tuesday; Niles, closed Monday and Tuesday; New Castle, closed noon Monday through Tuesday; Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed noon Monday through Wednesday.

County offices: Mahoning and Columbiana, closed Tuesday; Trumbull, closed Monday and Tuesday; Mercer, closed noon Monday through Tuesday; Lawrence, closed Monday through Wednesday.

Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission Office: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

State and federal offices: Closed Tuesday.

Mail delivery: None Tuesday.

Schools: Youngstown and Warren, closed Monday and Tuesday; Niles, closed Monday through Wednesday; Salem and Sharon, closed through Jan. 2; New Castle, closed Monday through Jan. 1.

Universities: Youngstown State, business offices closed Monday and Tuesday; Kent State University at Trumbull, closed through Jan. 2.

Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA): Closed Tuesday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, closed today through Tuesday; Warren-Trumbull, Bristol Public Library, Bristolville, Newton Falls Public Library, and Hubbard Public Library, closed Monday and Tuesday; Kinsman Free Public Library, and Girard Free Library, closed Monday through Wednesday; McKinley Memorial Library, Niles, closed through Tuesday.

Stock market: Stifel Nicolaus, closed Tuesday.

Banks: First National Bank, closing noon Monday; Charter One, Cortland Banks, Farmers National Bank, First Place Bank, Home Federal Savings & Loan, Home Savings & Loan, closing 1 p.m. Monday; Huntington Bank, Key Bank, PNC, closing 2 p.m. Monday; Chase Bank, closing 3 p.m. Monday. All banks closed Tuesday.

Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., Allied Waste, Waste Management, Warren City Environmental Services, Waste-Tech Services, Ohio Valley Waste, all closed Tuesday, services delayed one day.
