YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Children Services Board has placed its executive director, Denise Stewart, on a paid administrative suspension through Dec. 31, pending a CSB investigation.
It has also named Tony Paris, its chief supervisor, as acting director until further notice and authorized the Rev. Lewis Macklin, board chairman, to seek an interim director.
The board took the action after a 90-minute executive session this afternoon, but the Rev. Mr. Macklin would not be specific about the matter being investigated.
Today’s meeting occurred on short notice, with notifications not being issued until this morning, just before a four-day office holiday.
Stewart was on vacation and did not attend the meeting.
