CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say they’ve made an arrest in the stabbing death of a hotel security guard in the heart of downtown Cincinnati.
Police say they charged 35-year-old Joseph Tucker, Jr. with murder today. His bond was set at $1 million.
Tucker’s attorney says he suffers from mental issues and is homeless.
The arrest comes a week after 58-year-old security guard Richard Campbell was found dead from a stab wound at 5 a.m. on Dec. 7 in a stairwell at a Hilton hotel in the middle of downtown Cincinnati, near bustling Fountain Square.
Police publicized surveillance footage of a suspect and say they got several calls identifying the man as Tucker.
WKRC reports that Campbell was a well-loved Vietnam veteran and was killed on his birthday.
