Jones guilty in killing of YSU senior Johnson

A jury of five men and seven women today said Columbus Jones Jr., 23, is guilty of the murder of Youngstown State University student Jamail Johnson.

Jones is also guilty of 11 counts of felonious assault, all with firearm specifications.

The verdicts came this afternoon in courtroom of Judge John M. Durkin of common pleas court.

Prosecutors said he fired into a crowded house during a party where he had been involved in a fight. Several other men also face charges in the shootings.
