BOARDMAN — There will be an information session at Youngstown State University Metro College at Southwoods, 100 DeBartolo Place, at 11 a.m. Thursday about a shale-training program.
Zane State College, in Zanesville, and Retrain America are working with YSU to offer the Shale Exploration Certification program for a second time.
It is designed to prepare applicants for a number of positions in the oil and gas industry and includes career placement assistance.
Candidates should be capable of working long hours, willing to travel throughout the region and pass a drug test. Ideal candidates would have experience working tough physical labor, and knowledge in mechanics, electronics, heavy-equipment operations, engineering or a wide variety of skills. They are also seeking people with commercial driver’s licenses or military experience.
