Free parking

youngstown

Home Savings is providing free parking around the Youngstown State University campus this week.

“It’s just a nice gesture for the first week of school,” said Colleen Scott, vice president of marketing. “The first week back can be stressful, so this is just one less thing to worry about.”

YSU classes start Wednesday.

Home Savings worked with Ampco Parking to pay for parking at between 90 and 100 meters on parts of Wood and Phelps streets and Lincoln and Rayen avenues. Meters with free parking are covered with a Home Savings bag.

“We wanted to do something for YSU to show them how important they are to us,” Scott said. “We have a great partnership with the university, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.”

Cause of death

Austintown

Mahoning County coroner has ruled that a semi-truck driver’s cause of death was “cardiovascular in nature.” Roger B. Watkins, of Austintown, crashed his truck Friday in the southbound lane of state Route 11 at the Kirk Road overpass in the township.

Watkins suffered minimal injuries in the crash, and the coroner’s report indicated the accident occurred as a result of a heart problem.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol found nothing at the scene indicating that drugs or alcohol were a factor. Toxicology reports are pending.
