Jammin' for Justice against child abuse is Saturday


NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County sponsors Jammin’ for Justice, an event against child abuse, this weekend.

The event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cascade Park on East Washington Street.

Morning activities include a strong-man and strong-woman martial arts and mini self-defense demonstration, beginning at 10 a.m.

At 11 a.m. there will be registration for a 1-mile walk at $20 per person. The walk begins at noon.

Afternoon activities will include the Pathways to Justice – Community Agencies Resource Fair, Mock Field Sobriety Testing, Intimidation Tank, where law-enforcement officers get dunked, the New Castle Fire Department “Smokehouse,” first-responder vehicles, police canine hide-and-seek demonstrations, and the crime victims’ rights trivia prize wheel.

The Zou will perform, and the Scratch Factory will provide an MC and DJ.

All afternoon activities are free.
