LOUIE TODAY: Civil rights attorney Avery Friedman


Louie, Vindy.com's news radio partner, will talk with Atty. Avery Friedman on civil rights law. He has been recognized in Time, The New York Times and USA Today as a nationally distinguished civil rights lawyer and law professor.

Since 2001, Friedman has been weekend legal analyst for CNN, reaching more than 3 million viewers every week. He has lectured on federal civil rights law at more than three dozen major law schools including Stanford, Duke, Berkeley, Michigan, Tulane and the University of Texas, and has been invited to appear by both the U.S. Senate and House as an expert on civil and constitutional rights.

He is a former Special Counsel to the Texas Commission on Human Rights for his anti-Klan prosecutions and is currently Visiting Professor in Constitutional Law at Ursuline College.

He is recipient of the Legendary Champion of Civil Rights Award by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Freedom Award by the NAACP and the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Human Rights Award.
