WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes homemade baked chicken, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50 and containers will be available for takeout orders. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi, while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed early from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

SATURDAY

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will serve a roast beef dinner and salad bar from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Costs are $9 for adults, $4 for children, and free for children 5 and younger.

Southington United Methodist Church, state Routes 305 and 534, will have its annual Harvest Home Dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The menu includes ham, turkey, stuffing, real mashed potatoes, squash, green beans, applesauce and homemade desserts. Costs are $7.50 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 10, and free for children 3 and younger. Carryouts will be available; call the church at 330-898-2156 and dinners will be ready for pickup when you get there.

St. Nicholas Moms and Dads Club will serve a spaghetti dinner and basket auction from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church Great Hall. The meal includes two meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Takeouts will be available. Dine-in only will be all you-can-eat. Costs are $7 for adults; free for kids 5 and younger. Tickets are on sale at the school and the parish office.

SUNDAY

St. Mary Church, 3504 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge, will serve a pancake, French toast, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals are $6 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 11, and free for those 4 and younger.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, continues its centennial-year program with its first spaghetti dinner of the fall, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The meal will include salad, bread, dessert and beverage for a cost of $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 8 and younger. Folk group Jim Johnston and Friends, which plays at the Sunday 5:30 p.m. Mass, will present a concert at 2 p.m. in the church. For more information call the parish office at 330-743-1109.

Vincent Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, Pa., will have a stuffed chicken breast dinner from 12:30 p.m. until the food is gone. The meal includes potatoes, salad, vegetable, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Costs are $8 for adults; $4 for children 10 and younger. Proceeds will benefit the church missions.

Youngstown-American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, will serve chicken paprikash dinners from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $8. If ordering takeout, bring your own containers to save a $1.25 per container charge. Reservations and orders will be taken until Friday; call 330-792-5124.

TUESDAY

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) every Tuesday for $1.50 each. UPCOMING

American Legion FDR Post 560 will have a fish and shrimp fry from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 14 at the post, 103 12th St., Campbell. The menu will include french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and haluski. Bread and butter, desserts and beverages will be available. The event will include a 50-50 raffle. Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima, 12062 South Ave., at the junction of state Routes 164 and 165, will have its semiannual barbecued chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8. The dinner includes one-half chicken barbecued on an outdoor pit, baked potato, applesauce, green beans, roll and butter and pie. Cost is $9 for adults and $6.50 for children 12 and younger. The prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12; and free for preschoolers. Meals include potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, beverage and dessert. Jackson Township Fire Department Auxiliary will have a pancake and sausage breakfast and basket auction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 6 at the township administration building, 10613 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Costs are $5 for adults, $2.50 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and younger.

Pricetown Methodist Church, 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, Newton Falls, will have a home-cooked supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19. The meal will be individual chicken pot pie, pirogi, potatoes, salad, roll, homemade desserts and beverage. Costs are $7 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 5. Carryouts will be available.

Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, is selling homemade soup by the quart on the first Wednesday of each month beginning Oct. 5. Costs start at $6 per quart. Drive-through pick up time is 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, call the church at 330-427-2035.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 and 21. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $7 for seniors.
