YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Jackson of Youngstown were honored at a dinner at Alberini’s in Niles for their 60th wedding anniversary, celebrated with Creme de la Creme, the couples club whose members have been together more than 40 years.

The Jacksons’ daughters, Christal Hill of Columbus, Sylvia Lawrence of Atlanta and Monica Limerick of Akron, will host another celebration for their parents when they are home for the holidays.

Four grandchildren, Nikki Hill, Donald and Danielle Lawrence and Dean Limerick, complete their family.

Mr. Jackson and the former Gertrude Napier were married Aug. 4, 1951, at Price Memorial AME Zion Church. Mr. Jackson served in the Army Signal Corps during the Korean War and retired from General Motors Lordstown, where he worked 26 years as a general foreman. Mrs. Jackson retired in 1994 after 28 years as a lamp and coil maker at General Electric Co. and now works as a communicator with Infocision.

The couple are members of Price Memorial, where Mrs. Jackson served on the adult usher board and food ministry.
