YSU trails Indiana State 21-7 after one quarter


The Youngstown State football team trails Indiana State 21-7 in the first quarter of Saturday's Missouri Valley Football Conference game at Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Shakir Bell scored two touchdowns in the first five minutes for the Sycamores, bursting over the right side of the line both times for runs of 72 and 39 yards. They added a third TD on an 11-yard pass from Ronnie Fouch to Leonard Riston.

The Penguins finally scored on the last play of the first quarter when Jordan Thompson cruised in from 15 yards out.
