WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The menu will feature homemade baked chicken, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Youngstown, will offer a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. The meal will be pasta, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverages.

THURSDAY

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi, while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed early from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order, call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

SATURDAY

Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. for a cost of $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts will be available. Proceeds benefit the Mickey Schuster Memorial Scholarship Fund. For more information, call 330-758-5745.

Braceville United Methodist Church, 577 Park Road SW, off state Route 82 in the center of Braceville, will serve a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, and coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $9 for adults, $3.50 for children. Takeouts will be available; call 330-898-5607 to order.

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal includes meatballs, Italian bread, salad, dessert and beverage. Dinners are $6 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and Youngstown. Takeouts will be available.

Charity Lodge 530 Free & Accepted Masons and Palmy Chapter 114, Order of the Eastern Star, will host their annual pig roast from 5 to 9 p.m. at Deerfield Masonic Hall, 2380 state Route 225, Deerfield. The all-you-can-eat feast includes coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, dessert and beverage. Cost is $10 per person. Reservations are recommended; call Steve Fouty at 330-815-1119. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s expenses and philanthropic efforts.

Kinsman United Methodist Church will have its annual turkey dinner and bazaar from 3 to 7 p.m. at the church, 8431 State St., Kinsman. Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to 12; children 3 and under, free. Bazaar booths will be open at 2 p.m. The church is handicapped-accessible.

SUNDAY

Tickets are being sold for the 2011 Little Leopards Spaghetti Dinner from 1 to 6 p.m. at Liberty High School. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 10 years of age. Volunteers are needed to help cook and serve. Sign up at the concession stand. Walk-ups and takeouts will be available.

The Saxon Club will have a pork and kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Costs are $8.50 for adults and $5 for kids and include dessert and coffee, tea or pop. The public is welcome and takeouts will be available.

St. Lucy Altar & Rosary Society will serve a homemade spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at Palermo Banquet Center. Takeouts will be available until 3:30 p.m. Costs are $8 for adults, $4 for children.

St. Mark’s Antiochian Orthodox Church will have its annual lamb and chicken roast from noon to 4 p.m. at the church, 3560 Logan Way, Youngstown. The adult lamb dinner is $15; adult chicken dinner, $11; children’s dinners, $9. Soft drinks and dessert are included. Takeouts will be available. Ethnic pastries also will be sold. Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Costs are $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the church repair fund.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will have a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 in the school cafeteria. Spaghetti will be served with meat sauce prepared from the church’s special recipe, two meatballs, salad, bread and butter, cake and coffee. Costs are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 10. Carryouts will be available; containers will be provided. A basket auction will take place.

St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will sell homemade haluski Sept. 30. Call in orders Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to 330-755-0036 or 330-755-4141. Pickup is from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 30 in the church hall. Cost is $5 per quart.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner Oct. 6 from 4 p.m. until sold out. The meal includes stuffed chicken breast with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and brownie. Cost is $7.
