Mahoning Valley's unemployment rates dropped in August

The Mahoning Valley’s unemployment rate fell in August to 9.7 percent, down from 11.1 percent during the same month last year.

There were 3,900 more employed workers in August 2011 compared to the same month a year ago.

The Valley’s civilian workforce was unchanged when compared to August 2010.
