Couple pleads not guilty in boys' death, disappearance

ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) — An eastern Ohio couple has pleaded not guilty to charges in the drowning of the woman’s 3-year-old son and his missing 2-year-old brother.

Richard Klein Jr., 38, and 25-year-old Kasey Klein of Zanesville are charged with felony involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Authorities have said the boys wandered away from a campsite along the Muskingum River on June 4. The older boy’s body was found hours later in the water. Crews searched unsuccessfully for the younger boy for more than a week.

Kasey Klein remained in jail on $100,000. Her husband is jailed on $200,000 bond.
