Drug collection

WARREN

Law-enforcement officers from the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force will collect and destroy prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 21 as part of “Operation: Empty Medicine Cabinet.”

Officers will accept drugs in original containers at the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District, 5138 Enterprise Drive, off Parkman Road, near the Route 5 bypass.

Medications accepted include pills, capsules, patches, gels, powders, ointments, syrups, vitamins, inhalers and pet medications. Items not accepted are needles, syringes, lancets, thermometers, IV bags, aerosol cans, hydrogen peroxide, empty containers and illegal drugs.

Election set

CORTLAND

The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District special election of two supervisors and annual meeting will be at the Trumbull County Agriculture & Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 30.

At the conclusion of the voting, the annual award ceremony of individuals, farmers and businesses will occur.

Trumbull County residents and land owners who are at least 18 may vote in the election.
