Cruze to celebrate birthday Sept. 8

LORDSTOWN

The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze, the top-selling compact car for four consecutive months, will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its launch Sept. 8.

The car has topped 100,000 sales since its launch and has quickly become one of General Motors Co.’s best-selling vehicles.

The demand has been so great that the Lordstown plant has regularly worked extra Saturday shifts for months.

The Vindicator will commemorate the car’s successful first year later this week featuring reaction from Lordstown employees and auto analysts.
