POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Oct. 13

Theft: A nail gun valued at $249 was reported missing from a home in the 3000 block of Lisbon Street.

Oct. 14

Telecommunications harassment: A Glenview Drive woman reported she had been receiving harassing Facebook and text messages, including threats.

Oct. 16

Assault: Police charged Robert McFarland, 39, of 17 Hunters Woods Blvd., Apt. C, with assault of a woman in the 20 block of Fairground Boulevard.

Oct. 19

Warrant: Police arrested Troy Emmet, 43, of 485 W. Main St., No. 16, on a Liberty Township warrant for misdemeanor theft.

Oct. 20

Theft/criminal tools: Police charged Lenore Shakoor, 39, of 3934 Fourth St., Struthers, for possession of criminal tools, and Eric McDowell, 43, of 5025 Forest Park Place, No. 4, Boardman, for theft and possession of criminal tools after their arrest for stealing a Toshiba portable hand drive/Prestige Portable hard drive and a pair of Dr. Dre headphones from Radio Shack, 429 E. Main St.

Oct. 22

Texting: Police issued a citation to Anthony Linzey, 18, of 110 Woodbine Ave., Struthers, for texting while driving.

Oct. 23

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged James Treep, 49, of Minerva, with possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest on Broad Street.

Warrant: Police arrested Tina Gakda, 42, of 3958 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant through Boardman police for contributing to the unruliness of a minor, during an operating a vehicle impaired task force patrol in Boardman.

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Jacob Hall, 18, of 548 Stanton Ave., Niles, with possession of drug paraphernalia. He reportedly had a glass smoke pipe with marijuana residue.

AUSTINTOWN

Oct. 17

Theft: A bottle of Frappucino was stolen at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An Android cellphone was stolen at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Criminal damaging: Picnic tables were damaged at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Aggravated menacing: Threatening text messages were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Howard Street.

Theft: A purse was stolen from an auto parked at Bob Evans, 1100 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Felonious assault: A female suspect hit a male suspect with a car and ran over his foot at Denny’s, 4927 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: A cash register was taken at Belleria Pizza, 5625 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested Kevin Williams, 23, of 611 S. Canfield-Niles Road, for theft at a Sheetz gas station.

Oct. 18

Theft: A stereo was stolen from an auto at Austintown Pawn, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Obstructing official business: Police arrested Karissa Kulcsar, 27, of 2459 Oregon Ave., Youngstown, on a summons for obstructing official business and on a warrant from Youngstown at Rebel 38, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Oct. 19

Recovered property: A battery backup system was recovered in the parking lot at Monroe Muffler, 4754 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An iPod and stereo were stolen from an auto at True To Form, 5461 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Frankie Lockett, 20, of 1010 Compass West, No. 19, with the crime.

Criminal trespassing and theft: Police charged Sharon Ritter, 36, of 106 N. Brockway Ave., Youngstown, with theft and criminal trespassing at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized bank charges were reported in the 3000 block of Canfield Road.

Theft: Lottery tickets were reported stolen at the Pit Stop, 1744 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Electronics were taken and there was forced entry in a burglary at an apartment in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Jewelry and electronics were taken from a home in the 3000 block of Burkey Road. There was no forced entry.

Theft: A man is a suspect in taking money from a register at Golden Food Mart, 4282 New Road.

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Anna Miller, 46, of 211 Royal Mall Drive, Niles, with the crime after her arrest at the TA Truck Center parking lot, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Oct. 20

Theft: A pool stick and case were taken from an auto parked at a home in the 7000 block of Berry Blossom Drive.

Burglary: An apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive was broken into and $15 in change was stolen.

Oct. 21

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons on the crime to Howard McCreary, 44, of 254 S. Main St., at North Edgehill and Mahoning avenues.

Theft: A theft was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Derbyshire Drive.

Domestic violence: Police charged Shirley Howell, 47, of 212 N. Navarre Ave., after her arrest at her home.

Theft: A DVD was stolen at Golden Food Market, 4290 New Road.

Counterfeit check: A counterfeit cashier’s check for $1,600 was passed at Seven Seventeen Credit Union, 6460 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Shane Desmith, 28,of 656 Riverview Drive, Leavittsburg, for theft at Wal-Mart, and they also arrested him on two active warrants out of Warren.

Burglary: Two televisions, two DVDs, a microwave and two sweepers were stolen from Taco Bell, 850 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A Baja mini bike was stolen from a home in the 200 block of N. Raccoon Road.

Oct. 22

Theft: An iPod was taken from a Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Aggravated menacing: Police charged Sid-Michael Taylor, 22, of 8142 Castlerock Drive NE, Warren, with aggravated menacing and carrying a concealed weapon charge, and Gregory Tiberio, 25, of 160 Aylesboro Ave., Boardman, with drug abuse of marijuana after their arrest at the Wedgwood Plaza.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman reported receiving unwanted text messages from her ex-husband at a home in the 3000 block of Heritage Court.

Warrant: Police issued a warrant to Robert Sudimak, 44, of 127 N. Main St., for failure to appear in court.

Theft: Video games and controllers were taken three male suspects at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: An assault was reported at O’Donold’s Pub, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 23

Recovered property: A bicycle was recovered at Victoria Road and Silica Road.

Felonious assault: Police charged Raymond Riley, 50, of 1161 S. Raccoon Road, with felonious assault and tampering with evidence, and Kenneth Jordan, same address, no age, was charged with felonious assault and possession of drug paraphernalia after their arrest in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A 9mm Smith & Wesson, a .32-caliber Browning semiautomatic pistol, and a .25-caliber Colt automatic pistol were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of East Webb Road.

Breaking and entering: A swimming pool with a filter, grills and copper were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Theft: Three cans of gas were stolen from an auto parked in the 2000 block of Amberly Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A car was given a flat tire and scratches were placed on the vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Compass West Drive.
