WARREN — A man arrested by police on an unrelated charge was also questioned to determine if he was at the scene of the Sunday morning shooting death of a Youngstown Road bar manager.

At 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Stanley L. Thomas, 37, was shot to death in the parking lot of Clancy’s Pub, 2461 Youngstown Road.

On Tuesday, police and the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael L. Bobbitt, 22, of Palmyra Road Southwest, Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop at Randolph Street and Commerce Avenue Northwest.

He was questioned about the shooting after the arrest, said Warren Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Cole.

Bobbitt was taken to the Trumbull County jail. He was charged Tuesday with carrying a concealed weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm after police found a weapon in the car with him Tuesday.

Bobbitt will be arraigned on video this afternoon in Warren Municipal Court.
