Penn State satellite campus warns of sex assault

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Officials at a Penn State satellite campus in central Pennsylvania are warning students about a physical and sexual assault of a student in a nearby home.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says a female Penn State-Altoona student reported the assault to police in Logan Township early today.

Campus officials have issued a security alert that says the victim may have seen her attacker on campus and described him as a man in his late teens or early 20s.

Campus officials have referred questions to the police, who have not immediately provided other details.

The attack occurred in a residence within walking distance of the school, which is about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.
