Mount Union football player hurt in hit-and-run wreck

RAVENNA, Ohio (AP) — Ohio troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that left a college football player with a broken neck.

WJW-TV reports University of Mount Union wide receiver Clayton Hull was driving home from a concert in Cleveland early Sunday when his SUV was hit by a minivan and rolled over. He was ejected from his vehicle.

Hull was hospitalized in satisfactory condition. His father says doctors have told the family that if the neck heals properly, the 20-year-old sophomore can live a normal life and get back on the field.

Hull’s Purple Raiders were on the road over the weekend, but he stayed behind because of an ankle sprain.
