Fiancee: Casey Anthony had bond with dead toddler

Friday, May 27, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The fiancee of Casey Anthony’s brother says Anthony had an “amazing” relationship with the toddler daughter she is charged with killing.

Casey Anthony’s murder trial resumed Friday for a fourth day of testimony. Prosecutors have depicted her as unconcerned in the weeks after 2-year-old Caylee Anthony disappeared in June 2008. The child’s remains were found six months later.

Casey Anthony has pleaded not guilty. If convicted of first-degree murder, she could be sentenced to death.

Mallory Parker was called to the witness stand by prosecutors. She described how she and Anthony’s brother searched for the single mother in Orlando bars in the summer of 2008 when her family hadn’t seen her in many days.

But Parker also said that Anthony had a special bond with her daughter.
