POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

May 20

Aggravated menacing: A Shannon Road woman reported a 13-year-old girl threatened to beat up her daughter, 12.

Theft: A man returned to his apartment in the 1000 block of Patricia Drive and noticed $20 missing from his wallet.

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed a brick through a garage window in the 100 block of Morris Avenue.

Drugs: A charge was pending against a Trumbull Avenue man after police responded to a possible drug overdose at the residence.

May 21

Criminal mischief: Paint balls were fired at a home in the 40 block of Mohican Drive.

May 22

Assaults: Police made an arrest during a fight in Tod Park among four people, one of whom reported having been jumped and punched in the face.

Harassment: A Morris Avenue woman said her former boyfriend made and sent unwanted calls and text messages.

May 23

Criminal mischief: Two of a vehicle’s tires were slashed in the 50 block of Steel Street.

Theft: A woman at a South State Street business discovered $800 missing from her purse.

Theft: A $250 global-positioning-system device was removed from a car in the 200 block of Forsythe Avenue.

HUBBARD

May 18

Burglary: To a home in the 200 block of Carolina Avenue.

Fraud: A Jean Drive man noticed a fraudulent online ad regarding a home he had listed for sale.

May 19

Harassment: A Dresden Drive man said a tree-removal crew a neighbor had hired harassed him and illegally blocked his driveway.

May 20

Theft: A motorist pumped but failed to pay for gasoline before leaving a Speedway station, 806 W. Liberty St.

Theft: A man reported his son’s $100 cellphone stolen at Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave.

May 21

Criminal mischief: Several juveniles were seen pulling landscaping lights from a lawn in the 500 block of Meadowland Drive.

May 22

Criminal mischief: A roadside mailbox was deliberately knocked over in the 800 block of Elmwood Drive.

Criminal mischief: Toilet paper and tampons were found scattered on a property in the 3500 block of Timber Point Boulevard.

LIBERTY

May 18

Arrest: Police responding to a possible fight near North Gate Road charged 25-year-old Tara N. Elkins, 1756 Elm Road NE, Warren, with disorderly conduct. Elkins continued to swear at and taunt the other person despite officers’ advising her to desist, a report showed.

May 19

Harassment: An elderly Aurora Drive woman reported getting a series of calls she believed were part of a scam.

Criminal damaging: Someone used a brick to break a front window to a home in the 100 block of Euclid Boulevard.

Arrest: Ashley L. Hudzik, 28, of 177 Cassandra Drive, Niles, was taken into custody in the 4700 block of Belmont Avenue on a warrant charging her with contempt of court.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers pulled over a driver on Fifth Avenue, where they charged 39-year-old Saud A. Cochrane, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, with possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal tools after saying they had found contraband in his motel room. Cochrane also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Weathersfield police handed 20-year-old Stephen M. Williams, 2578 Chestnut St., Girard, to township authorities. Williams was wanted on a theft count.

Theft: Derrick G. McIntosh, 42, of 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Youngstown, was charged with stealing six video games from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

Domestic violence: Marcus A. Hayden, 40, of 1182 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, was charged with domestic violence and violating a protection order after a family member said she felt threatened when Hayden went to her residence, in violation of the order.

Theft: A woman reported her son’s $100 cellphone stolen at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road.

May 20

Arrests: A traffic stop near Colonial Drive led to the arrests of 23-year-old McKenzie C. Smith, 203 Goldie Road, Liberty, on a felony probation-violation charge and one misdemeanor count of possession of dangerous drugs, and Christopher B. Cordero, 24, of 124 S. Garland Ave., Youngstown, charged with possession of dangerous drugs and driving under suspension. Cordero also was wanted on a warrant.

Theft: Two women in their 20s stole $50 worth of clothing and food from Dollar General in the Liberty Plaza.

Drug paraphernalia: Robert H. Tinkham, 54, of 1301 Willowood Drive, Hubbard, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence when, police said, a suspected crack pipe was found during a traffic stop near Logan Way.

Aggravated menacing: An Aurora Drive woman told authorities her estranged husband threatened to kill her after being informed of her decision to seek a divorce.

May 21

Vehicular assault: A Youngstown woman at a residence in the 100 block of Euclid Boulevard alleged a man driving through front yards tried to run her over and struck the accuser with his vehicle’s passenger-side mirror.

Arrest: Authorities responding to a suspicious car on Leopard Way took into custody 24-year-old Brandon K. Watson, 1301 Shannon Road, Girard. He was wanted on a drug-related charge.

May 22

Arrest: After receiving several 911 calls about an intoxicated person near Belmont Avenue, officers picked up 52-year-old Sheldon R. Rupert, 1630 Forest View Drive, Youngstown, on a warrant from the city.

Arrest: Police responding to someone starting a fire near Belmont Avenue arrested Charles W. Leonard, 42, of New Orleans upon learning he was wanted by El Paso County, Colo., authorities on a felony warrant.
