Green Machine wrestling: Peter Ryan of the Green Machine Wrestling team won the Cadet Greco State Championship at the USA Wrestling Ohio Junior/Cadet Greco Roman and Freestyle State Championships in Mount Orab. Nick Mancini placed second in both Cadet Greco Roman and Freestyle Wrestling. Other Green Machine wrestlers to place at the tournament were Anthony Mancini and Nico Lucarelli with third place finishes in Cadet Greco Roman, and Gabe Stark with a second-place finish and Zachary Benedict with a third-place finish in Junior Greco Roman style wrestling. The Green Machine was coached by Dom Mancini and Jack Raver. State qualifiers were Kyle Kondis, Joe Cordova, Ben Kirk, Joe Wheeler, Matt Inghram and Scott Glenn. Nick Mancini, Ryan, Benedict and Anthony Mancini were selected for Team Ohio for the Junior/Cadet Division.

Penn-Ohio basketball: The 6th grade Blue Storm boys team won the championship at the Western PA Ballers tournament at Slippery Rock University. Members of the team were Clay O’Dell, Timothy Wagner, BJ Williams, Tyler Davis, Dakota Hobbs, Zack Sickafuse, David Durbin and Jahmeer Jordan. Coaches are Steve Sickafuse and Jeff Davis.

Also, the 7th grade Blue Storm boys team won the championship at the Western PA Ballers tournament, including the final game against Rise High All Stars from Pittsburgh. Coached by Keith Russell, Dave Hansen, Jim Powers and Justin Magestro, members of the team were Jason Austin, Kyle Russell, Matt Partridge, Jacob Harvey, Zane Rummell, Evan Engelhardt, Nate White, Jimmy Powers, Drew Magestro and Alex Huff.

Also, the 4th grade Blue Storm girls team won the championship at the Western PA Ballers tournament. They defeated the Western PA Ballers in the final game. Members of the team were Ayanna Odem-Harrison, Kyla Jamison, Tara Burke, Gillian Fisher, Kellee Applegate, Kayla Muslovski, Malia Magestro, Ellie Cruz and Brianna Dean.

Ohio Glaciers baseball: The traveling baseball team for 12U players won the Mid-May Classic Tournament in Akron, and has a record of 18-0. The Glaciers completed the tournament with a 4-0 record, hitting 13 home runs with 59 hits, 57 runs scored and only seven runs allowed. They won the championship game against the North Royalton Bears 12-0. Members of the team include Joe DeLucia, Ethan Kalina, Chris Lewis, Joey Machuga, Zach Tinkey and Anthony Vross, all of Canfield; Lucas Nasonti and Michael Turner of Champion, and Michael McDonough of Columbiana. Delucia, a catcher, went 7 for 10 batting int he tournament. Lewis hit two home runs, including a grand slam, in a 19-4 victory over Ellet Eliminators (OH). He also hit a home run in a semifinal win over SportsZone Sliders. Machuga had a home run in the championship game, and Tinkey went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs against Ellet. Vross was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs in a 20-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Prowlers. Nasonti was the winning pitcher in the final game; Turner went 3 for 3 against the Prowlers with two home runs and a double, and had five RBIs. McDonough went 2 for 2 in the final game and pitched the final two innings.

Penn-Ohio Fusion baseball: An 11U team, members of the team are Frankie Rappach (Howland), Brice Williams(Boyers, Pa.), Trent Vandervort (Boyers, Pa.), Jacob Jewert(Chicora, Pa.), Hunter Fitzingo (Boyers, Pa.), Dylan Beasom (Howland), Erick English (Allison Park, Pa.), Travis Perry (Oil City, Pa.), Joshua Adamson (North Washington, Pa.) and Hayden Parker (Howland). Coaches are Frank Rappach, Kirk Parker, Craig Perry and Mike Jewert. The team has competed in four tournament championship games, winning titles in the GLBL state qualifier, Beaver Valley Mother’s Day Classic and the Team Sports Nations qualifier. They finished second in the Muddy Diamond Classic. The team’s record is 16-3.
