Wednesday, May 18, 2011

FELTON, Pa. (AP) — A teen is dead after police say he fled from officers then crashed during a high-speed pursuit.

State police say 18-year-old Michael Nuzzi Jr. was killed when the motorcycle he was riding struck a mail box and utility pole in North Hopewell Township, York County.

Investigators say a Stewartstown borough police officer tried to stop Nuzzi after seeing the motorcycle was unregistered, but Nuzzi refused to stop. The officer pursued the Seven Valleys man at speeds of up to 90 mph but lost sight of the motorcycle before coming upon the crash scene.

The York Dispatch reports the motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured and Nuzzi was not properly licensed to operate it.
