Youngstown police looking for man who robbed cab driver

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for a man in his early 20s who robbed a cab driver of his fare and caused the man to crash into a house on the South Side.

According to police, the 28-year-old cab driver picked up a black man with darker skin, in all dark clothes and of average weight and height at 11:14 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Auburndale Avenue. The man was taken to the 400 block of Kist Avenue.

The driver told police he informed the passenger that the fare for the ride was $7.75 once he reached the Kist Avenue address. The driver told police the man attacked him from behind as soon as he told him the cost of the ride.
