Nick Russell’s two hits included a double for the Tigers (1-0, 1-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Joe Ohlin also had two hits and a sacrifice fly that drove in a run during the Tigers’ three-run fourth inning. Also in that inning, Jake Noble and Mike Semach had RBI singles. Matt Chopp struck out four batters and walked one. Chopp (1-0) picked up the win in relief of Brad Ferraro. For the Rebels (0-1, 0-1), Tom Marnejon (0-1) went the distance on the mound, striking out five and walking three. Brandon Brooks had two hits and drove in three runs. Adam Coppock also had a RBI single.

Lowellville 8, Western Reserve 3

STRUTHERS

Mike Petronek had two hits and two RBIs and Bryan Schiraldi had a single and three RBIs just minutes after getting clearance from his doctor to return from knee surgery for Lowellville (1-0, 1-0 ITCL Tier Two). Frank McDowell pitched three innings of scoreless relief, striking out four and walking one, to get the win.

Leetonia 6, McDonald 3

LEETONIA

T.J. Skaggs had two doubles and three RBIs, while Cody Stokes also had two hits for Leetonia. Alex Bison, Mike Helco and Jeff Walp had two hits apiece. One of Walp’s hits was a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning.

Alliance 5, Southeast 1

ALLIANCE

Jeremy Keane had two singles and Jared Grimes doubled for Alliance (1-0). Garrett Barrera had three singles, while Santana Barrera had two singles for Southeast (0-1). Each team had six hits.
