Circus performer falls at Covelli show
YOUNGSTOWN
A performer on bounce stilts crashed to the floor of the Covelli Center during Saturday’s 7 p.m. performance of “Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Fully Charged.” The performer was taken to a local hospital to be checked, and was released, said Donna L. Larkin Lake, circus spokeswoman.
The identity of the performer was not released.
The circus ends its four-day run in Youngstown with a performance tonight at 7.
Garden district grows on West Side
YOUNGSTOWN
The Garden District Neighborhood Association on the city’s West Side has expanded its coverage to residents from Mill Creek MetroParks to Belle Vista Avenue and from Mahoning Avenue to McCollum Road.
The consolidation into one group will increase the ability to maintain and improve the neighborhoods, said Jerry O’Hara, the association’s president.
The association meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month at Fellows Riverside Gardens’ Davis Center. New members are welcome.

As of April 30, all items left at Milton Township cemeteries will be removed. People have until that day to retrieve the items.
SKYWARN training set in Austintown
AUSTINTOWN
Mahoning County SKYWARN, a volunteer organization of weather spotters, will conduct training on how to recognize approaching storms and tornadoes.
Gary Garnet, warning coordinator meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Cleveland, will lead the session at 6 p.m. April 6 at Austintown Fitch High School Auditorium, 4560 Falcon Drive. Training is free.
