SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced

Erie-Mahoning Valley Railroad Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Reports will be given, and birthdays will be recognized. All railroad retirees and their spouses are welcome.

Lowellville Senior Citizens will have their monthly meeting at noon Friday in Lowellville City Hall conference room with president Ernie Ciarniello presiding. Lenten lunch of fish and macaroni and cheese will be provided by Phyllis Nolfi of Gianna’s catering. Call Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176 for reservations or cancellations. Birthdays and anniversaries for April will be acknowledged. A casino trip is being planned for April. Call 330-536-8748. Membership is open for new members; anyone over 55 is invited to join. Dues for 2011 are $5. Members are asked to take a donation for a gift basket to be presented to shut-in members. Any illness or death should be reported to Mary Mascarella, sunshine chairwoman, at the above number. Bingo will follow the meeting.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Ted Conner will give the devotions. There will be a pizza party at noon. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. Park Vista Breakfast Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. April 14 in the gathering room, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The speaker will be psychologist Dr. Edward Amicucci, whose theme “Keep Your World Expansive” will focus on cognitive functioning, Alzheimer’s, dementia and avoiding depression. Retired Registered Nurses will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, Canfield Road, Canfield. Members are asked to take their own place setting for a casserole luncheon. Members whose last names begin with A through G are to take a salad; H-O, dessert; and P-Z, entrée. All retired registered nurses are welcome.

Sts. Peter and Paul Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ukrainian Center. Ann Smith will preside, and Pat Hoffman and Laura Dulay will give reports. Lunch will be served, and dues of $7 will be collected.
