I-80 crash in Hubbard Twp. injures 7

A Hubbard Township crash that injured seven is under investigation.

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident on Interstate 80 that happened at 10:27 p.m. Thursday.

Robert Palumbo, 45, of Northfield, Ohio, was driving his semi westbound on I-80 in the right lane when he attempted to move into the left lane.

Christine Wray, 44, of Mapleton, Pa., was traveling west in the left lane next to Palumbo. She swerved to avoid collision with the semi and went off the left side of the road then back onto the road, lost control and struck Palumbo. Upon impact, Wray’s minivan went off the left side of the road and hit several small trees.

The injuries to seven people involved appeared nonlife-threatening.

Palumbo suffered minor neck and shoulder injuries but refused treatment.

Six passengers in Wray’s minivan were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Wray was not injured.
