Mac Trailer to hire 100-plus workers

Mac Trailer, a steel-and- aluminum-trailer manufacturer with locations in Alliance and Salem, is increasing its staff.

The company will add at least 100 employees by June and at least 40 more in July, said Shawn Foor, director of human resources for Mac Trailer.

“We’re seeing a resurgence in the market, and we’re expanding to meet the market needs and the growth we see currently,” said general manager Les Smith.

Foor said the company is hiring mechanical and design engineers, welders, warehouse staff, production supervisors and administrative assistants.

The company also will be hiring more general- labor employees in the next month, he said.

Pay for entry-level positions ranges from $10 to $13 an hour, Foor said. Compensation for salaried positions varies and is negotiable.

The company offers health and dental insurance, 401(K) and supplemental life- and disability-insurance policies.

Smith said all the positions offered are full time, and he stressed a need for qualified welders.
