YOUNGSTOWN

A 27-year-old woman is facing felony charges after making false calls about a bomb planted on Youngstown State University property.

Toya Scott, 27, of Mathews Road, Boardman, was arraigned Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court before Magistrate Anthony Sertick on three counts of making false alarms. She is in Mahoning County jail on a combined $30,000 bond.

According to YSU police reports, Scott called YSU police Monday and Tuesday claiming to have planted a bomb in Cushwa and Ward Beecher halls. The calls were made from campus extensions.

On Tuesday, police and maintenance personnel checked Ward Beecher for a bomb and later identified Scott as the person responsible for making the calls. Reports say she later admitted making them.

Scott works for a company that supplies food to the university.

She is due back in court at 11 a.m. April 1.
