Police probe two shootings in city

Police are investigating two shootings in the city involving teenage boys, with one teen boy suffering a gunshot wound to his foot.

According to police reports, a 17-year-old Bennington Avenue boy told police he was standing in the living room of his East Side home just before 4 p.m. Tuesday when a man wearing a hoodie and blue jeans ran up on the porch and fired one shot into the house.

The boy was shot in the foot. Police could not find any shell casings or slugs in or around the house. The boy was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police also are investigating a shooting that reportedly took place Monday evening on the East Side.

A 17-year-old West Myrtle Avenue boy told police he was at the intersection of Lansdowne Boulevard and McGuffey Road just after 7:30 p.m. when he heard gunfire and glass breaking. The boy said he noticed two men run from the intersection after the shooting.

The teen went to the police department, where officers noted two large bullet holes in the car door and a shattered window.
