WARREN

Barbara Ruggieri, one of three corrections officers at the Trumbull County jail accused of eavesdropping on supervisers through an intercom system, has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor falsification charge.

Ruggieri, 45, of Meadowbrook Drive in Warren, entered the plea Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

She will be sentenced after the county’s Adult Probation Department conducts a pre-sentence investigation.

Authorities said Ruggieri and the two others — Robert J. Rihel Jr., 46, of Anderson Anthony Road, Leavittsburg, and Timothy J. Billock, 45, of East Broad Street, Newton Falls — were placed on administrative leave Nov. 3.

Rihel is indicted on 23 counts of interception of wire, oral or electronic communications; Billock is indicted on six counts. Both await trial.
