Ohio University president recovers from medical procedure

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — The president of Ohio University is recovering from an undisclosed medical procedure and is not scheduled to return to work until Monday.

Multiple media outlets report that university President Roderick McDavis has been out since March 14 in a two-week leave that was planned.

According to WOUB radio, the procedure was for a medical issue that was not life threatening.

His chief of staff tells the student-run newspaper The Post that McDavis has been in touch with school officials about Gov. John Kasich’s budget proposal, which would slash state funding for Ohio University by $16.2 million.
