School choice rally today in Columbus

COLUMBUS — More than 2,000 parents, children, and elected officials will demand that the state expand access to school choice at a rally in Columbus today, according to PRNewswire.

The one-hour event begins at 1 p.m. at the west lawn of the Ohio Statehouse.

Participants from across the state will offer support for legislative proposals that would provide low-and middle-income parents with better educational options.

Pending legislation would dramatically expand programs that allow children to receive school vouchers to attend the private schools of their parents’ choice.

Advocates are also calling on the state to implement a new school voucher program for children with special needs.
