Ron Insana, a CNBC senior analyst and commentator and host of “The Insana Quotient,” a nationally syndicated daily radio show, will be the guest speaker at the Regional Chamber’s 2011 Annual Meeting and Luncheon Thursday at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.

Learning Lab

The Youngstown Business Incubator will present a full-morning Learning Lab session on optimizing websites for search-engine optimization Tuesday at 8 a.m.

Geared toward executives, managers, marketers and webmasters at small businesses and organizations, this workshop covers how to measure search performance and structure a page for better search placement.

The YBI’s Chief Imagination Officer, Tyler Clark, will lead the session.

Clark has developed websites locally and nationally. He has been a featured speaker on SEO and Social Media at the Wean Foundation’s Annual Nonprofit Summit and for the Ohio Department of Development Division of Entrepreneurship and Small Business.

The YWCA of Youngstown and Hard Hatted Women Present will have a free career orientation to trade and technical careers for women Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Newport Library, 3730 Market St.

Getting federal funds

The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center will offer a free, introductory program about how technology-based companies can land federal dollars.

On Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m., small- and medium-sized business operators, university students, faculty members and staff are invited to attend the free session about the Small Business Innovation Research Program and the Small Business Technology Transfer Research program.
