First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge: Explore and share the possibilities of the practice of prayer during a Lenten program Wednesday. What is your spiritual personality? Come and try on a variety of prayer practices and see what fits best — drawing, music, movement, play-dough or nature. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and worship at 7 for the next five weeks. Services are for the entire family.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland: Dinner and a movie continues at 6 p.m. Wednesday with the conclusion of “The Robe.”

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown: Dr. Timothy Beal, author and educator, will discuss his new book, “The Rise and Fall of the Bible,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Beal’s visit launches the church’s free Lenten Series of lectures and discussions featuring difficult problems in the Bible. A light supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by discussion. Beal’s visit is co-sponsored by St. Johns’ and the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Youngstown State University. Beal is the Florence Harkness Professor of Religion at Case Western Reserve University.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., Sharon, Pa.: Suzanne Lee will open the program at noon Tuesday with carillon music followed by meditation and recital by Harper Kirk, minister of music at Unity Church Centre in Liberty. A light lunch will follow.
