WARREN

Author Rebecca Barnhouse will visit the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW., to discuss the writing process and to read selections from her work as part of the library’s Saturday Author Chat series, which highlights local and regional authors.

Barnhouse is the author of two teen novels, “The Coming of the Dragon” and “The Book of the Maidservant.”

Her books are set during the Middle Ages and have themes of fantasy, myth and magic.

“The Coming of the Dragon” has won two awards, one from the Society of Midland Authors (for children’s literature) and one from the Friends of American Writers (for juvenile literature).

Her next book, “Peaceweaver,” will come out in early 2012.

Barnhouse teaches writing and young-adult literature at Youngstown State University and specializes in literature of the Middle Ages.

The program will take place in the Quiet Reading Room, located on the first floor of the Main Library and is free and open to the public.

Reservations are not required.
