Columbiana Co. Fair to kick off

Columbiana County Fair is just around the corner, and officials are gearing up for several nights of car, truck and motorcycle entertainment.

The fair, established in 1845, runs Monday through Aug. 7, and includes a truck and tractor pull, a demolition derby, motorcross racing and a bike night.

Opening ceremonies are at 5 p.m. Monday, followed at 6 p.m. by a truck and tractor pull. Grandstand admission is free Monday. Gates open at 3 p.m.

The second annual bike night is Tuesday, beginning at 4 p.m., and entertainment at 7 p.m. is motorcycle dirt drag racing. Grandstand admission is also free Tuesday.

A demolition derby begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Bleacher seats and grandstand reserved seating are $5.

The Western Reserve Motorcycle Club will host motorcross racing at 7 p.m. Thursday in front of the grandstands. Admission for this event is free.

A truck and tractor pull, presented by Full Pull Productions, will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday and bleacher seats and grandstand reserved seating are $5. A similar event Saturday begins at 6 p.m.

Closing out the fair Sunday will be a demolition derby at 6:30 p.m. Bleacher and grandstand seating is $5.

General admission Monday is $5. Tuesday through Friday, general admission before 3 p.m. is $6. After 3 p.m., the cost is $8. General admission Saturday and Sunday is $8. These prices include rides. General admission presale tickets are available through 3 p.m. Monday. The cost for seven tickets is $30 but this doesn’t include rides.

General admission is free for children under age 3 and military men and women in full uniform. Senior citizens age 62 and older will have free admission Tuesday until 3 p.m.
