Gas prices rise
COLUMBUS
Ohio gas prices are up a nickel from last week and are close to $1 higher than a year ago.
Analysts expect no big swings in the cost of gasoline over the next few months, barring a hurricane that threatens Gulf Coast refinery operations or major economic news that affects the price of oil.
Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts Ohio’s average price for regular-grade gasoline at $3.65 a gallon, up from $3.60 a week ago.
According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge report, gas rose 1 cent compared to last week and is now $3.62 per gallon.
Last year at this time regular was averaging $2.75 at the state’s gas pumps.
Career workshop

The YWCA of Youngstown will host a free career workshop for women from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the MYCAP office, 101 Federal Plaza East.
The workshop will be tailored to those out of work, looking for a career change or considering returning to school.

Bookstore opens
BOARDMAN
Bradley’s Book Outlet has opened its newest location at Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St.
The location is the first store in Ohio for the Pittsburgh-based company, which has eight stores in Pennsylvania.
Bradley’s is a bargain book store. The company says it discounts about 90 percent of its inventory.
